Is voyeur legal or illegal ? I know that question has been asked before but I have some points that I find unclear..
first of all, what is voyeur ? what I got is it's the action of invading others privacy by recording some video or taking picture of them while they are not aware of it...how about spying on somebody without recording ?is that called voyeur ?
On beaches, some women get topless or naked...how about if somebody take some pictures ?is that voyeur ? I mean that it is not invading of privacy as they are already showing on the beach (public place)...& the same applies in the streets..
Some women do not let their hubbies take pictures of them naked, how about if the husband take picture while wife is sleeping ?is that called voyeur ?
why people may get a camera & do all that effort to get a video of a woman naked while they have wives or if not they may get a porn movie or even a whore ?! what is the interest or the motivation ?
& for those who get spied on, how do they feel if they find out ? | Voyeurism is legal in certain situations however not all. Like you said, if someone is in public there is no reasonable expectation of privacy - that is, they have no recourse if someone does take a photo of them, for instance at the beach.
However this only extends to some areas and some types of photos. Some countries and states have brough in legislation to combat "upskirting". For instance in Australia there have been a few cases where men doing this have been charged with indecent behaviour.
In addition to this, there are some areas where there are reasonable expectations of privacy. For instance, if you were in your own home or in a public bathroom. In these situations voyeurism is illegal.
There are also some laws in some areas specifically regarding guyren. In response to recent pornographic pictures of guyren at the beach appearing on the internet, several councils across Australia have banned all photography in areas which guyren congregate.
I can't comment for people who have been spied on - people react to situations in different ways. I know if it happened to me I would feel disgusted that someone had been watching me.
Finally if you find photos that were taken without your consent on a website, the best thing to do would be to try and contact the webmaster, explain the situation and request to have them removed. | Do people look at each other on the streets anymore? or have we become this facebook generation and only like to be voyeurs of other people's lives. | Haha I doubt it.
Now that I think about it, whenever I go for a walk I try to stay invisible (which means whenever I see someone in their yard, I walk the other way XD) or when I keep walking, I don't even look at them. | Barry George - Why is everyone so happy to see him free? The press are calling him a "local nutter" yet I will detail all the crimes this "local nutter" has committed.
Rape (he served time for this), attempted rape, stalking women, he was caught outside Princess Diana's home with a knife and rope, he stole the i.d. of a famous SAS man and opened up a bank account in the SAS mans name, he impersonated a police officer, he harassed local women and was a predatory voyeur photographing women on the streets. Yet the press are calling him a "local nutter"?
Am I missing something here? | Because an innocent man was jailed for a murder he didnt do, while the real murderer walks the streets a free man. Heads should role for this gross incompetence.
Only because he has had his probs in the past does not mean he should be framed for a crime he didnt commit :) | Do the Republicans know how to demonstrate sound fiscal stewardship? The latest FEC reports show some interesting line items in spending by the RNC
Among February expenses reported to the FEC: $17,514 for private jets; $12,691 on limos; $19,016.63 at the W hotel in downtown Washington ; $9,099 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California ; and $6,596 at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire nearby.
The kicker was $1,946 spent at Voyeur,a 'high end' bondage themed strip club.
Ya gotta love those guys. Is Voyeur the West Coast version of the C Street House | I like what you just said, but that's like looking at Tiger Woods is a bad driver of the golf ball, so he's not a good golfer. Let's look at the bigger picture: rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu51GeLFLgL… Here are a comparisons of the deficits. It clearly shows republicans are not fiscally responsible.
As a matter of fact, it shows they are not that good for the economy either: search.yahoo.com/search?p=who+is+… | Do these characters have any antisemitic stereotypes? You see, me and my friend are creating characters for our Creative Writing Class. We're rewriting classical stereotypical Jewish villains like Fagin, Shylock and Barabas but give them more humanity, sympathy and complexity. We both share a sympathetic fondness of villains. Here is my character;
Sampson was raised in some kind of strict denomination of Judaism that made him want to be more free and independent. Another reason is he didn't like the way his people were being so passive during slanders and labels, he wanted to fight back but he also didn't want to die or get labeled the same way as his people; he only cares for his own survival and his own selfish independence. He may practice his beliefs in private but has lost all faith in Jews gaining respect and tolerance; he enjoyed drinking, being a voyeur and reading Marquis de Sade. He met a runaway nun from a convent whom he fell passionately in love and shared some of his horniness. They both ran away to London but were treated unfairly by the locals and workers. So they both worked in the underworld and trained street urchins and unwanted guys as thieves and grafters. Sampson was neither greedy nor stingy but he was selfish, albeit considerate.
This is my friend's character;
His character is named Matthias, he lived in Italy in the late 16 century. He was forced to work as a moneylender even though he didn't like jewels or material wealth; but he was mostly fond of guyren, he even adopted some guyren from the streets and one born from a nun raped by the priest. He loved them all and would tell them stories and fables and teach them mathematics and alphabets. Til one fateful day, one of Matthias's clients wanted to get revenge on him for not helping him in his dirty work; he sent his servants to kill the guyren and stole his money and had him slandered and as a corrupter of guyren. Matthias wept with a broken heart when he saw his guyren's dead bodies but was banished from the city. He swore revenge and surprisingly meet some Mediterranean Pirates who asked him if there was any villages to sack, he told them that the city he came from was rich in gold and food. He broke away from his faith and officially made himself Pirate after the city was sacked. Matthias would be given his share of the loot but in reality he would put it away and dream of his guyren with a broken heart and would wake up with a hardened heart of despair. | | They're actually pretty good. Great | Does this Character sound alright? any opinions? Sampson-a young Jewish man who lived with in strict sect of Judaism with his family. He lived in the Victorian Countryside in England. As a teenager, Sampson didn't like living in such a strict environment with his family and community for two reasons; 1) it denied him individual independence, which made him stubbornly selfish and always arguing with his Father and Stepmother. 2) he didn't like the way Jews were being mistreated by the Christians, he hated the slander but remains faithful to his faith, but was always pessimistic about Jews ever gaining respect by anyone. He secretly became a drinker, a voyeur and enjoyed reading the erotic tales of the Marquis de Sade. He then met a runaway Nun named Agnes who shared his passions and desires, both ran away to London where they hoped to live better lives, but with all the prejudice and taunting by Christian/Anglican bigots, they were forced to work in the criminal Underworld: they owned an Antique Shop were they received 'merchandise' from street urchins in exchange for food and shelter. Sampson and Agnes became husband and wife despite their religions; Sampson remained a faithful Jew and Agnes a Roman Catholic, but both were bold, sinfully delicious, somewhat selfish but loyal to each other and also amorous. | Just to comment on the reasons that Sampson would be upset about Judaism: Your second reason sounds good. If you want to stay true to history, I suggest to take that route. The most prominent reason that people who have rebelled against Judaism, throughout the ages, was that they were drawn to the secular world; they saw the glitter, the promises, etc. (be it wealth, fame, respect, freedom from responsibility). They lost the beauty of the religion and they left it for what they felt looked better. This fits in well with your story, because your character seems to be drawn to "interesting" secular reading, and I assume there's more, once you get to the details.
People did have the complaint about individuality, but they generally only came up with that once they decided that they didn't "feel" Judaism anymore. Judaism happens to encourage individuality, and you see it manifested in many ways throughout the laws, etc. It's the "individuality" that demands being independent of Judaism that Judaism doesn't believe in.
Also, you say at the end that he remains a faithful Jew... the moment he ran away with a nun he dropped Judaism. One of the biggest sins and traitorous acts in Judaism is a man marrying (or being with) a non-Jewish woman (it's actually even a bigger sin for a Jewish man than it is for a Jewish woman). It is just impossible and illogical that he would be able to live this way of life and try to keep up with Judaism, because if you completely disregard one of the biggest laws then why would you bother yourself to keep the smaller and less understandable ones? It's too contradictory. He just wouldn't.
Also, I don't really know much about Jews in England during that time period, I found this article online. I didn't read it so I hope it's accurate, but you might find it helpful: www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/dero…
Oh, one more thing - if he grew up in a strict Jewish environment, his name would not be Sampson, it would be Shimshon (the hebrew of Sampson). Sampson is like the English version. It would make more sense if, one day, close to when he leaves for good, he decides that he doesn't want to go by his Hebrew name anymore, and that now he wants to be called Sampson. His family would be very upset over this. And then ya for the rest of the book he would go by his newly proclaimed name.
Hope I helped some :)
Good luck with the book!! | Can someone interpret this dream of mines? I'm walking around a city at night, some small down town area where there's virtually no one around and eerily serene. I find myself in an open plaza. Everything had an greenish olive tone to it while all the street lights were a bright yellow. Everything closer to the lights was greener while further from the lights everything was completely desaturated. Ahead of me I see a great building of classical design that had many steps and columns. As I made my way up the steps I noticed a couple making out nearby in front of statue of a giant snake.
At first I felt kinda of weird because I felt like a perverted voyeur but I couldn't tear my gaze away from them. It was a young man and a girl, both around my age but I did not recognize them and for some reason I was fascinated by them. Then I noticed something odd about the astute and I realized it was coming to life.
I'll add more details as this is a long one. Hold on. | It sounds like you're feeling. . .uhm, whats the word? . . .I dunno. Like you need to help someone. . .
As for the snake,
To see a boa constrictor in your dream, suggests that you are feeling suffocated or restricted in some personal relationship. Alternatively, it represents repressed sexual urges or hidden enjoyment of sex.
To see an adder in your dream, symbolizes a sly or cunning person. This person cannot be trusted. It may also represent something or someone who has slipped out of your hands.
And for the building,
I wouldn't know.
If you need to talk,
we can discuss it. | How do straight women react in their head and with their body to a really cute guy? I am a gay man, live in mid town and see really cute men on the street. I know that I react, in my head "god I want him" and my body sometimes does it's reaction too. How is it for straight women? How do you react? What goes through your head in a split second. Is there a reaction in your body that you can feel?
I am not asking to be a di**kweed or a voyeur, I am just interested to know how human beings react in everyday situations. If your a straight guy and want to answer about seeing a cute woman or a cute guy, love to hear from you too.
The use of cute is deliberate as opposed to HOT or DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. | | when i see a really cute guy i think about what he can do in bed.. and then i say "bad stef bad" lol | Do these minor antagonists sound stereotypical for my story? I wrote about 2 minor antagonists whose names are Sampson and Agnes, Sampson is Jewish while Agnes is Roman Catholic; Also I would like to admit that I did borrowed some elements from Charles Dickens Oliver Twist (training guys to steal and Fagin-like characteristics) But I don't want to make my character Sampson into another Jewish caricature like Fagin or Shylock.
They both lived in the Victorian era, in the countryside in a village with a small half belonging to Jewish residents. the village also had a Catholic Convent.
The same could be said for Agnes; her family was devoutly Roman Catholic and wanted her to join a convent for financial reasons (they don't want to give her a dowry) and because they have no concern for her future; the nuns lived simple pious lives but were sometimes prejudice and materialistic. So when the two met, they fell in love and plotted to run away together to London; Sampson forsook his people when they were attacked by a mob after Agnes set the Convent of fire killing half of the nuns and the village. When they came to London, they didn't have that much money and working conditions were terrible. So they started to work in the criminal underworld and began teaching young street urchins to be thieves, in exchange for shelter, warmth and some meat. | Man, this again? Are we never going to hear the end of the libertarian-Jew-living-in-the-English-co… cliché? : P
Okay, so maybe the street urchins are a bit Oliver Twist. You could modernize it a bit. | Would this Character sound like an Antisemitic Stereotype? Sampson-a young Jewish man who lived with in strict sect of Judaism with his family. He lived in the Victorian Countryside in England. Now, if there are any Jewish people (or Jewish Historians) here, I would like to know about the life of a Jew in the 19th century England. Its sort of a remake of Dickens's Fagin, I didn't like the way he portrayed hims stereotypically. I want my character to be something of a rebel and a minor neutral antagonist but I don't want to be historically inaccurate. And I don't want to offend the Jewish People. | | Why would the character be antisemitic? He doesn't sound that way to me. Sounds like it would make a great book, I would read it at least. |
